Hard-core Projectile

(subcaliber projectile), a type of armor-piercing projectile designed to destroy tanks. Hard-core projectiles were first developed in the USSR in 1938. The armor-piercing part of the hard-core projectile is a high-strength core whose diameter is approximately one-third the caliber of the gun (hence the name “subcaliber”).
