Iashilkul
Iashil’kul’
a lake in the Pamirs, in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast, Tadzhik SSR. The lake covers an area of 35.6 sq km and has a maximum depth of 52 m. It is situated at an elevation of 3,734 m. It was formed as a result of an avalanche that cut off the Alichur River. It is fed by snow and glaciers. The Gunt River (Amu Darya River basin) flows from Iashil’kul’.
