Grading of Fruit
Grading of Fruit
grouping fruit by size; one of the operations in the market processing of fruit.
Depending on the biological characteristics of the variety, fruit is divided into four, five, or more grades. Grading is done by hand (comparing to standard samples) or on grading machines (according to weight or size). Hand grading is usually combined with sorting or packing; machine grading is done after sorting.
