GPR132

GPR132

A gene on chromosome 14q32.3 that encodes a G protein-coupled receptor with a high-affinity for lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), a major phospholipid of oxidised low-density lipoprotein. GPR132 may react to LPC levels at sites of inflammation to limit expansion of tissue-infiltrating cells; it may play a role in apoptosis, act at the G2/M checkpoint to delay mitosis, and may slow the proliferation of T, B and other cell types so they can repair damaged DNA to ensure proper replication.
