[′jē ‚spās] (mathematics) A topological space X together with a topological group G and a continuous function on the cartesian product of X and G to X such that if the values of this function at (x,g) are denoted by xg, then x (g1 g2) = (xg1) g2 and xe = x where e is the identity in G and g1, g2 are elements in G.
