(hen'lē glandz) Formerly considered accessory lacrimal glands, these epithelial invaginations are located near the fornices in the medial part of the palpebral conjunctiva; they open on the conjunctiva surface along with the Krause gland, and secrete into the basal aqueous tear layer.
