It’s named after its creator, American pharmacist Wilbur Scoville (January 22, 1865 – March 10, 1942)The “Trinidad Scorpion” is currently the World’s hottest chilli pepper at 1.5 to 2 million Scovilles, replacing the “Naga Ghost Chilli” which measured approximately 1 million Scovilles on the Scoville scale.
