Kercher was found murdered at her home in November 2007. Three people were charged with the murder: Rudy Hermann Guede (a man who lived in Perugia), Knox (a student who shared a home with Kercher), and Knox’s former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. Knox and Sollecito appealed against their prison sentences and a new trial began in December 2010. Knox is sometimes called Foxy Knoxy in the media because of her attractive appearance.
