释义 | Knox, Amanda From Longman Dictionary of Contemporary EnglishKnox, AmandaAmanda KnoxKnox, A‧man‧da /nɒks, əˈmændə $ nɑːks-/(1987-) a US woman who in 2009 was sent to prison for the murder and sexual assault of a British student called Meredith Kercher in Perugia, Italy. Kercher was found murdered at her home in November 2007. Three people were charged with the murder: Rudy Hermann Guede (a man who lived in Perugia), Knox (a student who shared a home with Kercher), and Knox’s former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito. Knox and Sollecito appealed against their prison sentences and a new trial began in December 2010. Knox is sometimes called Foxy Knoxy in the media because of her attractive appearance. |
