In the programme two families, usually with very different ways of living, exchange wives for two weeks. In the first week, the new wife must obey the rules and follow the way of life of the wife whose place she is taking. In the second week, the new wife is allowed to introduce her own rules which the family must follow. At the end of the two weeks, the two couples meet and discuss their experiences.
