释义 | Marshall, George C.A soldier and diplomat of the twentieth century. He was a leading planner of strategy for the Allies in World War II. Marshall served as secretary of state from 1947 to 1949, during which time he put forth the Marshall Plan. In 1953, he received the Nobel Prize for peace.
