Any of various chemical compounds made of three smaller identical or similar molecules (called monomers) that are linked together. Trimers are linked by hydrogen bonds, coordinate bonds, or covalent bonds. Raffinose is a trimer composed of the monomers glucose, fructose, and galactose.
