Note: This taxon was introduced by the phycologist Adolf Pascher (1881-1945; ethnic German born in Tusset/Stožec, southern Bohemia, and active in Prague) in "Über Flagellaten und Algen," Berichte der Deutschen Botanischen Gesellschaft, Band 32 (1914), p. 151 and following. In the same article, Pascher introduced the orders Dinocapsales, Dinococcales, and Dinotrichales, as well as the genus Dinothrix (p. 160).
