Lessing, DorisLes‧sing, Dor‧is /ˈlesɪŋ, ˈdɒrɪs $ ˈdɔː-/(1919–2013) a British writer of novels and short stories. She wrote The Grass is Singing, The Golden Notebook, and a set of five novels, The Children of Violence, about politics and feminism. She won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2007.
