Etymology: < French affineur (from 14th cent. in Middle French in a variety of technical uses) < affiner affine v. + -eur -eur suffix.
Cheese-making.
A person responsible for maturing cheese in a cellar, climate-controlled room, etc. Cf. affinage n. 2.
