to listen to (also hear) reason: to (be prepared to) listen to rational arguments, other viewpoints, etc., esp. after a period of not doing so.

take better way with you: used to enjoin someone to a more reasonable course. Obsolete.

intransitive. To employ reason or rationalism; to think rationally or in a rationalistic manner.
