D'Orbigny, 1850 or earlier) < post-classical Latin Calloviensis (1817 or earlier; < a Latinized form of the name of Kellaways (given by d'Orbigny as Kelloway ; see Kellaways n.) + classical Latin -ēnsis -ese suffix); compare -ian suffix.
