Primary stress is attracted to the first syllable of this combining form and vowels may be reduced accordingly; see e.g.

Etymology: < ancient Greek μαζός breast (see mazo- comb. form1) + -ia suffix1. Compare -mastia comb. form.This combining form is of limited distribution, being virtually limited to the words amazia , gynaecomazia , micromazia , and pleiomazia . It was first used in the mid 19th cent. On the relationship with similar terms in -mastia see -mastia comb. form.
