Etymology: < the name Yüeh Chou of a town (now called Shaoxing) in Zhejiang Province, China.
A type of stoneware distinguished by a celadon glaze, first produced in the Six Dynasties period and perfected during the Tang dynasty. Frequently attributive, esp. as Yüeh ware.
