Etymology: < Middle Low German *wricken (in vorwricken , -wrycken ; Low German wrikken ) to move here and there, to sprain; or Dutch wrikken to move jerkily, to scull (whence German wricken , Danish vrikke , Swedish vricka ). Compare wrig v.
