1876 J. Stainer & W. A. Barrett Dict. Musical Terms 455/1 Yang Kin, a Chinese instrument furnished with brass strings, which are struck with two small hammers, like a dulcimer.
1934 Jrnl. Royal Asiatic Soc. Apr. 334 This would appear to have been similar to the dulcimer which is known to-day in China as the yang-ch‘in.
1962 E. Snow Other Side of River (1963) lxxiii. 566 They may specialize in piano, violin, cello, flute, or one of the standard Chinese strings: p'i-p'a, yang-ch'in, yueh-ch'in, and others.
