1973 H. Landar in T. A. Sebeok Current Trends in Linguistics X. ii. 1396 The term Seminole refers to Creeks in Florida from 1750. Of these perhaps two-thirds spoke Muskogee and one-third Hitchiti, Alabama or Yamasee.
