单词 calamanco
释义

calamancon.

/kaləˈmaŋkəʊ/
Forms: 1500s calamance, 1500s–1800s calimanco, 1600s callamancho, 1600s–1800s callimanco, (1800s calamanca), 1600s– calamanco.
Etymology: Found also in Dutch kalamink, kalmink, German kalmank, kalmang, French calmande, Genev. calamandre: of unknown origin. The form has naturally suggested connection with medieval Latin camelaucus, a kind of cap, and a cloth of camel's hair; but evidence of connection is wanting. See Du Cange.
