white thrombus n. [probably after German weissen Thrombus (Friedrich Zahn, 1875 or earlier)] Medicine a thrombus (blood clot) containing very few red blood cells; esp. a greyish-white mass of aggregated platelets and fibrin found within an artery; (also) material of this nature; often contrasted with red thrombus.
