释义 | bugeyen. U.S. Now chiefly historical. A type of sailing boat used mainly for oyster fishing in the Chesapeake Bay area, typically having a centreboard and two masts. Cf. buckeye n. 4.Boats of this type were common in the late 19th cent. but in the early 20th cent. were largely superseded by the smaller skipjack (skipjack n. 6).
