Any of several aquatic or waterside plants with large or broad leaves; esp. those of the genus Rumex (family Polygonaceae), as western or Scottish dock, R. aquaticus, and (more fully giant water dock, great water dock) R. hydrolapathum of streams and lakesides in Europe and western Asia.
