Of or relating to a virtuoso (virtuoso n. 2b); displaying or characterized by exceptional technical skill in music or another artistic pursuit. Also in extended use. Cf. virtuose adj.Occasionally with negative connotations of the pursuit of technique at the expense of emotional depth or creativity.
