Etymology: < Swahili buzaa, (also) buza, apparently < Nubi buzaa, perhaps influenced by earlier Swahili †boza intoxicating drink made with cannabis (apparently also a loanword; parallels are widely attested in languages of the Near East and the western Indian Ocean; compare boza n.).Nubi is an Arabic-based creole language spoken in Kenya and Uganda.
