Etymology: < vel- (in velocity n. or its ultimate etymon classical Latin vēlox) + -o- connective + -genic comb. form.

Designating strains of Newcastle disease virus that replicate rapidly and cause virulent disease; of, relating to, or caused by such a strain. Cf. lentogenic adj.2, mesogenic adj. 1.
