Forms: Middle English wn-, 1500s–1600s vntymous, untymous, 1500s untimus, 1600s–1700s untimous; 1500s untymeus, 1600s untymeous, 1800s untimeous.
Etymology: Alteration of earlier untimes , untymys (see untime n. 1b), by assimilation to adjectives in -eous suffix. For this change of ending compare undeemous adj.Previous versions of the OED give the stress as: unˈtimeous.
Chiefly Scottish.
