Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: un- prefix1, peated adj.
Etymology: < un- prefix1 + peated adj.
Of malted barley: that has been dried without the use of a peat fire; (of whisky) distilled from malt dried in such a way. Also occasionally (of soil): not enriched with peat.
