单词 | unquert |
释义 | † unquertn. Obsolete. Harm; injury; misfortune; (also) wickedness. Cf. unquert adj. in unquert (see quot. 1508): in distress. The use in quot. a14002 was interpreted by N.E.D. (1924) as adjectival, but on balance it seems preferable to take the phrase to make vnquerte as meaning ‘to cause harm’. The phrase does not equate directly to the Latin text of the psalm.
