Etymology: Apparently < un- prefix1 + Old English -cwēme (in gecwēme i-queme adj.); compare slightly later queem adj. Compare un-i-queme adj. Compare Old Swedish oqvæm, Old Danish vqvæm, vquem (Danish (now rare) ukvem), all in sense ‘unsuitable, inappropriate’.
Obsolete.
