Etymology: Partly < unleash v. + -ed suffix1 , and partly < un- prefix1 + leashed, past participle of leash v.
That has been freed from a leash; (frequently figurative and in figurative contexts) no longer restrained, let loose. Also: that is not held on a leash. Cf. unleash v.
