1961 J. M. McGuire et al. in Antibiotics & Chemotherapy (N.Y.) XI. 326 Tylosin, a new antibiotic substance, has been obtained from soil isolates tentatively identified as strains of Streptomyces fradiae (Waksman and Curtis) Waksman and Henrici.
1968 New Scientist 28 Mar. 678/2 Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic, and organisms resistant to it are often cross-resistant to other macrolides, such as erythromycin, oleandomycin, and spiromycin.
1981 Antimicrobial Agents & Chemotherapy XX. 214/1 Tylosin is a complex macrolide antibiotic which is produced commercially by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae.., it is also produced by strains of Streptomyces rimosus..and Streptomyces hygroscopicus.
