Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element. Etymons: Latin ubīque , -arian suffix.
Etymology: < classical Latin ubīque anywhere, everywhere, wherever (see ubiquity n.) + -arian suffix, probably after e.g. antiquarian n., antiquarian adj. Compare earlier ubiquitarian n., ubiquitarian adj.Compare post-classical Latin ubiquarius (noun) Lutheran who maintained the doctrine that Christ's body was everywhere present at all times (a1575), (adjective) of or relating to the doctrine of the omnipresence of Christ's body (a1575).

1. With capital initial. A member of an eighteenth-century society imitating the constitution of the Roman government. Usually in plural. Frequently in Order of Ubiquarians. Now historical.The exact intentions of the society are not known.
