Etymology: < trans- prefix + sexuality n. In sense 1 after homosexuality n. In sense 2 after transsexual n.; with this sense compare slightly later transsexual adj.
1. Homosexuality or bisexuality, regarded as being due to the possession of psychological and emotional characteristics of the opposite sex (cf. sense 2). rare.The use of the word in this sense seems never to have gained wide currency.
