transitive. To use a breathalyser to test (a person) in order to determine the presence or concentration of alcohol vapour in his or her breath; spec. (of a law enforcement officer) to test (a person) for intoxication in this way in order to establish fitness for driving a motor vehicle (see breathalyser n.).
