Etymology: < toy n. + -etic suffix.Apparently coined by Bernard Loomis (1923–2006), U.S. toy developer and marketer, in 1977; compare quot. 1977.
Of a film, television programme, cartoon character, or the like: that lends itself to the marketing of related merchandise, such as toys, games, costumes, etc.
