Etymology: < French bricoleur person who lives by his or her wits (1859; also 1778 denoting a type of hunting dog), person who can fix things ingeniously, jack of all trades (1938), person who appropriates and improvises with a diverse range of existing materials or sources to create a new artwork, theory, etc. ( C.
