The ideology and principles adopted by Tito (see etymology), esp. the form of communism introduced by him in Yugoslavia from 1948, characterized by independence from, and often opposition to, the Soviet Union, and the abandonment of economic central planning in favour of workers' self-management (self-management n. 2b); (by extension) any form of communism resembling this.
