That is or has been tinged (in various senses of the verb); (originally Alchemy) transformed by the action of a tincture (tincture n. 6a); (later chiefly) coloured, tinted. In later use frequently as the second element in compounds.bluish-tinged, fire-tinged, glory-tinged, etc.: see the first element.
