释义 | borneenen. Chemistry. Now historical and rare. A liquid hydrocarbon obtained from Borneo camphor and other natural oils (perhaps impure camphene). ΚΠ 1843 Chem. Gaz. 1 Mar. 230 It takes up the elements of 2 atoms of water, and is converted into a crystalline camphor, which has all the properties of the solid Borneo camphor... For this reason the author applies to the carburetted hydrogen of the valerian oil the name of Bornéen, and to the camphor that of Borneol. 1848 G. Fownes Man. Elem. Chem. (ed. 2) 530 It [sc. oil of valerian] consists of at least three principles, namely, valerianic acid, borneene, a light volatile liquid hydrocarbon, much resembling and isomeric with oil of turpentine, and valerol. 1931 M.
