A liquid hydrocarbon obtained from Borneo camphor and other natural oils (perhaps impure camphene).

1848 G. Fownes Man. Elem. Chem. (ed. 2) 530 It [sc. oil of valerian] consists of at least three principles, namely, valerianic acid, borneene, a light volatile liquid hydrocarbon, much resembling and isomeric with oil of turpentine, and valerol.

1931 M. Grieve Mod. Herbal I. 155/2 Its [sc. oil of camphor] chief constituent is an oil called Borneene.
