Etymology: < tele- comb. form + guidance n., after French téléguidage (1949 or earlier). Compare earlier teleguided adj. and later teleguide v.
Now rare.
The action or practice of remotely controlling or directing a machine or device, esp. a missile; (also) the branch of science and technology concerned with this. Also figurative: the exercise of indirect control over something from a distance.
