Origin: Formed within English, by derivation; originally modelled on a German lexical item. Etymons: terminist n., -ic suffix.
Etymology: < terminist n. + -ic suffix, originally after German terministisch (1827 in the passage translated in quot. 1833). Compare post-classical Latin terministicus (1706 or earlier). Compare slightly earlier terminism n.
Theology. Now rare.
Relating to the Christian doctrine of terminism (terminism n. 1); spec. designating the dispute or controversy over this doctrine.
