Etymology: < the name of Shin'ichi Suzuki (1898–1998), Japanese educationalist and violin teacher.
Music.
Used attributively, as Suzuki method, Suzuki recital, etc., with reference to a method of teaching the violin (esp. to young children) developed by him, and characterized by exercises involving parental participation in rote learning and musical appreciation. Also extended to the teaching of other instruments.
