In later use spec.: the highest weight class in amateur boxing and some other sports, having no upper limit; a competitor of this weight, or a contest or match involving this weight. Also (and in earliest use) figurative.The minimum weight of the super heavyweight division in amateur boxing is 91 kg (approx. 200 lb), equivalent to the heavyweight division in professional boxing.
