Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymons: Latin supparasītāt-, supparasītārī.
Etymology: < classical Latin supparasītāt-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of supparasītārī to act the part of a parasite < sup- sub- prefix + parasītārī to play the parasite < parasītus parasite n. Compare slightly earlier supparasitation n.
Obsolete. rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
intransitive. To fawn, flatter.
