Etymology: < super- prefix + temporal n.1, after Byzantine Greek ὑπέρχρονα (5th cent. in Theodoretus, compare quot. 1678), use as noun of neuter plural of ὑπέρχρονος. Compare post-classical Latin supertemporalia (1567 in a translation of Theodoretus), use as noun of neuter plural of supertemporalis supertemporal adj.2
