Esp. in certain traditional communities of Oceania and the South Pacific: to make an incision in the upper part of the foreskin of (a young boy or man), chiefly as a rite of passage. Cf. circumcise v. ΚΠ 1784 in J. Cook & J. King Voy. Pacific I. ii. x. 387 The men are all circumcised, or rather supercised; as the operation consists in cutting off only a small piece of the foreskin, at the upper part. 1888 A.
