superatev.

Brit. /ˈsuːpəreɪt/, /ˈsjuːpəreɪt/, U.S. /ˈsupəreɪt/
Origin: A borrowing from Latin; partly modelled on an Italian lexical item. Etymons: Latin superāt-, superāre.
Etymology: Originally < classical Latin superāt-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of superāre to climb over, to cross, to get beyond, to pass, to rise or extend above, to be superior to, to surpass, excel, to exceed, to prevail over, to overcome, defeat, to surmount < superus higher (see superior adj.). Compare earlier superate adj. In recent (20th-cent.) use chiefly after Italian superare (a1348; < classical Latin superāre).
Now rare.
